Ordering and payment

How do I make an order?
On the product page, add the item to the shopping cart, and enter the required quantity. The ‘continue’ process will take you through the payment and checkout. Please check your email and delivery address are correctly entered. You can find more details here.

What payment types do you accept? And how secure are my payment card details?
We use Paypal as our payments partner. Paypal is well-known in the online world as a provider of secure payment solutions for businesses. You can use your own credit and debit cards with Paypal and there is no need to have a Paypal account.

You'll be transferred to Paypal's secure servers to complete your payment during the checkout process, this uses secure sockets layer (https) to keep your information safe. For your protection, Kyrene Designs never holds your payment details. Please see Paypal’s own site for more information.

Postage and packaging

What packaging do you use?
Goods are carefully wrapped inside a pouch or box, and sent in a securely sealed padded bag or carton. We use gripseal bags to protect the silver. Currently we do not provide gift wrapping but expect to in the future. We aim to be as eco-friendly as possible with our packaging.

What are the postage rates?
Postage costs are based on the total value of your order. The current rates are:

A signature may be required for some deliveries and you will be informed in the despatch email, this is usually for higher priced goods. Delivery of stock items is usually within 2-5 working days.

Do you post outside the UK?
We are not currently set up to take your international order on the web site, but we hope to in the near future. However please contact us as we may be able to arrange your order directly with you.

What if my jewellery doesn't arrive or arrives damaged?

Returns

Can I cancel an order? Do you accept returns?
Yes, but we cannot accept returns on pierced earrings due to EU hygiene regulations. Please note that Matching Sets are sold as one complete item and cannot be returned if the pierced earring option item was ordered.

You must notify us to return goods by emailing us within 7 working days after the day you received the goods. If goods have not been despatched, we will cancel the order and refund you. If the order has already been despatched, you will need to return the items under our returns policy. You are responsible for damage or loss when returning goods and they must be unworn, in original condition and fit for resale.
We provide detailed instructions, clear photographs and accurate measurements, so always check measurements carefully when ordering to reduce mistakes, as photographs display items bigger than in real life.

Will it fit me?

How do you string and finish off the jewellery?
Our jewellery is strung on professional jeweller’s wire which has many strands of stainless steel coated in nylon, made especially for stringing and which provides the correct strength and drape. We use fine quality silk for traditional hand knotting as well as nylon substitutes for heavier items. Wired items will drape well but not as much as threads will.

At the clasp we use gimp (french wire) or wire guardians to protect against wear and tear, therefore giving the best protection available. The best type of crimps on the market are used to secure the item.

Information about earrings and clasps
earring clips We use short earring hooks or posts according to the design of the earring and how it hangs best, however they can be changed over. For sterling earrings, we offer alternative silver-plated ‘soft’ (not hard shutting) clips for non-pierced ears.
We often use ‘easy to use’ hook clasps, which are secured by the weight of the necklace. Where a necklace is lightweight, a trigger clasp is more secure.
